Interview Update

Thursday (Jan 28) I had my interview with Andrea for the bride and I feel it went great! Samantha is so lovely and really has a passion for the company her mom had started about 40 years ago. Getting to the stores location was a bit of a chicken race. Google directions and google maps were giving me 2 different locations so I did a lot of U-turns (almost 1hr and a half to get there) but got there on time (thank goodness! I was so worried).

Andrea for the Bride has a gorgeous location in BeverlyHills. Their variety in bridal gowns and 'mother of the bride' gowns are breath taking. They are so unique I feel I could visit every day an see something different.

So during the interview we talked over my resume/experience, my key skills, and what she is expecting from someone who is her assistant. I felt confident in her feed back and it would be a great opportunity. Plus her schedule fits perfect with mine! All my worries about managing touring, MODE, school work, and freelance work went right out the window! She asked me to come back Monday afternoon to meeet her mom. (aah! smiles! thats a good sign!)

Monday (Feb 1st). I woke up at 6AM and started to get ready. Our meeting was at 10AM and maps was telling me it would take an hour and 15mins, so I left my house at 8:00AM. My hour and 15 min drive turned into 2hours!! Why it takes 2hours to go 20 miles who knows!? However, I still got there on time and met Samantha's mother right away. She was standing outside talking on the phone. Your first day is always awkward, your nerves are jumping out of your chest, and you simply what to do everything perfect. I was there from 10AM- 3PM and at the end Samantha asked her mother "do we like her", as I hold my breath, she reponds yeah and told me to come back Saturday and we'll see. Not going to lie I wasn't sure what that meant and wasn't sure how to feel. I talked to a lot of my friends and they reassured me it's just something companies do. So I stayed positive!

Flash forward to Saturday... Today I went in at 10AM (only took me 40mins! God I love saturday traffic!) and the day went great! I love everything that I did all day but even more than that I love the people I get the opportunity to work with. When 6PM came around it was decision time and the words "Yes I like her. I liked her the first day I met her." (Samantha's mom) confirmed that I was hired!

So excited to announce I am the new assistant to the CEO (Samantha) for Andrea for the Bride!!

And to think I was going through so much within myself and feeling restless to figure out my next steps. I took a chance and sent my resume out.
