Big Yellow Taxi

So most of you know I have so much going on at the moment. New job, current job, helping wrap up FIDM MODE magazine, full time fashion design student at FIDM, and trying to juggle a social life. I tell myself I should just be fully satisfied with what I already have going on, yet here I find myself in a big yellow taxi in Vegas.

I'm here traveling with PerlmanRep Showroom (a company I had my first ever internship) They contacted me about a month ago to see if I would be interested in flying out to Vegas to help out with the maddness of Magic/Project. I adore them and when I interned for them I went to Magic and got a serious crash course into all the hard work that goes into buying, selling, and marketing.

I had the privilege to work with this modern/ boho brand, Tolani! Most of you have probably heard of it and if you haven't you need to go check them out. I will attach a link below. I had 4 days to study and know everything about the brand. It can be a hard task and a lot to remember (you'll be asked every question in the book at Magic/ Project from buyers). Alka (the owner/ designer) is honestly the most energetic and passionate woman I have ever met! Tolani is her baby and she is always reinventing the brand, which keeps her ahead of all the others. I was lucky enough to be included in the conversation for the development of Fall 2 line for the brand. She gave me a look into how the garments are developed and how she gains her inspiration.

I am quite young (only 20...Always the baby in the group HAHA) and I am in this time of not knowing exactly where I want to go but I love the industry and I am open to all opportunities. This is a great time to be able to pack a bag and leave on an adventure. I always say the best advice I could ever give is leave your options open and have an open mind. This industry has so much to offer! Who knows try it all!

So Vegas was crazy! If you ever think you'll get a good night sleep you're the crazy one! Magic/ Project is hard work. Soon as I landed in Vegas I took a taxi straight to Project and got to work. You are up at 7AM, at the convention center at 8AM - 7PM, and of course you have to go out with the owners for a little party or go out with coworkers to let loose after a long day till 12/1 AM...then do it all again! Not to mention you are in heels the whole time...or at least I was (you don't have to be). Dolce Vita gave us a free pair of shoes but the catch was you must wear them for the show. A little pain for a free $200 pair of shoes..hell yeah I can hang! But by Thursday I was dying on my feet all day in heels until I got into bed. New on shopping list...BUY SOME CUTE FLATS!

However, I had such a good time with old friends and made some new ones! Some nights we laughed till we cried. It was such a relief to step out of my day to day schedules and routines, but by thursday I was begging to sleep in my own bed!

Sorry we didn't take many pictures especially at Magic/ Project. I was so busy but heres some of my friends and I!
