“I’m busy”

When did we become too busy for the ones we love the most?

“I’m busy” is the new disease in society. Putting our jobs, schoolwork, and endless checklists before our own joy and quality time. I would be calling the kettle black if I said I wasn’t at fault to this horrible disease. We must give but also learn to take. We cannot give so much of ourselves and have it in our heads that if we have nothing more of ourselves to give we are some how succeeding at something. Giving is a great gift but sometimes learning to receive is the best thing you can do for yourself.

Allow yourself to receive that time with family. I want to stay up till 1AM laughing so hard with friends we end up crying. I want to be more than my career. Learn to tell yourself “I deserve this.” Free time should not be seen as lazy or a sin but a blessing.

“Dolce far Niente”

(Italian for “the sweetness of doing nothing)
